Things to do

SailingRelax and enjoy yourself!

Besides painting, there are lots of things to do. And although non-painting partners will probably want to come along on most of our excursions, here are a few suggestions for other activities. We'll provide a map of the island in your welcome kit, plus brochures for any activity that interests you - let us know!

Walking / Hiking: the nature is beautiful - get out there and see it! There are plenty of paths and trails around, though I have to say not all of them are particularly well sign-posted. Your map will come in handy!

Cycling: There are bikes for rent in Vrboska, we can provide details for those interested. The back roads are not at all busy, and you can choose your own level - easy coastal or strenuous mountain roads!

Beaches: Clear water and peaceful coves - pick your own! These are not sandy beaches, though, lovely big rocks and some have gravel. Get a beach mat and water shoes in the market - they're not expensive and really useful!

Scuba diving: There is a company in Hvar town and Stari Grad that organizes scuba diving in the crystal clear waters around the island. See ancient Roman ship-wrecks!

Rock climbing: there is a company that provides equipment and guides for rock climbing at several locations on the island.

Boating: Rent a boat and go exploring the coastline. Find yourself a quiet cove or go over to Zecevo island with a picnic!

Wineries: Hvar is the island of wine, and we have several excellent wineries nearby. Our artist retreat includes wine tasting, and tours of local vineyards.
